Honor
Honor correlates to integrity. A person’s honor is something that cannot be bought, sold or traded. A culture of honor is established and attributed to varying degrees by the interactions we have between peers, superiors, and those we serve. A person who lives without honor is like a ship with a gaping hole on the side of its hull, once the integrity of the ship is known, the usefulness and effectiveness of the vessel is diminished until restored. We give honor to every employee, boss, client, and subcontractor on the mere premise that they are human. We honor by the way we interact and communicate, acknowledging humanity as a work in progress and recognizing success and failure as building blocks along this journey of life. Therefore respond honorably to each situation in a like manner, whether we continue to do business or have a relationship with a person/company or not. Honor is given while respect is earned.
